BASIL September 2022

The front cover of BASIL shows last month's solar observing at Troopers Hill.

Predicted solar activity, solar cycle progression, planetary observing notes, finder charts and rise / set times are reported for September.

Constellation of the month is Pegasus, which is well placed for observing Messier 15 - a magnificent globular cluster.

Visible transits of the ISS for September are listed.

19 observing targets for the month are provided, with more details given for M15 (the Pegasus Cluster) and the beautiful double star 61 Cygni in the Cygnus constellation.

Society News provides details of the 2022 programme of talks, a report on solar observing at Troopers Hill, and information about the free online 'Stargazing for Beginners' talks in October, organised by the Bristol, Cardiff and Bath Astronomical Societies.
