Members Observing Night
Friday night is observing night!
Forecast is variable cloud at 21:00 GMT this Friday (10/11/2023) and no interest shown so we are NOGO .
General view of the night sky and detailed view of Jupiter and it’s moons shown below for Friday night at around 21.00 GMT. Links to these on-line tools can be found on the observing page. Orion is seen rising on the Eastern Horizon signalling the onset of the Winter observing months. Could be good fun to look at M1, the Crab Nebulae.
As noted in Basil, Comet 2023/H2 (Lemmon) reaches peak brightness around 5.3 and an early opening of the observatory at 18.30 will be necessary before it becomes too low in the West. If interested complete the registration form at the bottom of this notice and comment you wish to observe the comet. I will open up early and arrange Members Night Zoom participation from Failand.
There is a booking form at the bottom of this notice. Please register if you intend to come to help us estimate numbers.
