Members Observing Night – NO GO
Friday night is observing night!
If one or two members can help, my aim this season is to open up the observatory every Friday night. That will be around 9.30 pm on club nights and earlier on non-club nights, weather permitting.
Bring your own telescope if you wish. We have a flat concrete platform now.
I plan to take some test photographs this Friday and check out guiding using LX600 and make a start on getting the LX600 fully operational for astro photography. If you have a Canon or Nikon DSLR bring it along and we will try and give it a go. Will also fit in some visual observations.
Please register below if you intend to come. Any queries please email: observatory@bristolastrosoc.org.uk
Tea and coffee will be available. Bring a mug if you would like to make a brew.
Event Status: NO GO
The weather forecast for tonight is dry but with a band cloud not clearing to around 3.00 am so I have cancelled tonight’s observing session.
Training for members wanting to use the club observatory facility can mostly be covered in cloudy but dry conditions like tonight. If anyone is still interested in going to Failand for this reason, then I am happy to open up the Observatory. Let me know at tonight’s meeting or drop an email to observatory.
