Sadly the flat screen TV at the Cyril Swindin Observatory gifted by Stephen P is bust. It was working back in February but when we turned it on a couple of weeks ago it failed to start. Robin and myself had a look and so has the local TV shop in Nailsea who believe it’s the main board but at over £100 for a replacement, is beyond economic repair.
A TV at the observatory is very useful for star parties to show videos and slides and can be used for live video camera images taken using the 12” telescope.
It’s a 32” which is about the right size for the observatory. I can source a second hand TV from the TV shop for around £50 but if you have one surplus to requirements then please let me know.
