BAS Annual General Meeting, 27 February 2026

We held our AGM on 27 Feb 2026, which was followed by an excellent talk by BAS member Chris Lee on the topic of ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Great Attractor’.

At the AGM, in accordance with our Constitution, we received reports from Committee members, agreed the year’s budget and future subscription rates, and appointed members of the new 2026/27 Committee. The three officers elected were: Chair (Stephen Price), Secretary (Michael Dean) and Treasurer (Richard Mansfield).

Nine other committee members were elected and their roles will be confirmed shortly at the next Committee meeting.  The AGM appointed two new committee members, John Huntley and Richard Bennett, and we welcome them to the committee.

We also showed our appreciation to two committee members who stood down: Maxine Stait and Keith Norwood.  We’re very grateful for their contributions to the society.
