Telescope Surgery
Telescope Surgery
Do you want to buy an astronomical telescope but don’t know where to start? Do you want to know more about the different types of telescopes available and their pros and cons? Do you already have a telescope and want help from experienced astronomers on how to set it up and use it?
Well, look no further, because the Bristol Astronomical Society is holding a free Telescope Surgery on Friday 7th November, which is open to all. There will be a talk from an experienced astronomical observer and astro-photographer, an opportunity to ask questions, demonstrations of modern astronomical telescopes, and practical help with setting up your own telescope (please bring your telescope along if you’d like assistance and advice). We will also have a number of different astronomical telescopes on display which are available for loan, from telescopes for beginners to more complex telescopes for experienced observers. There will also be a selection of discounted astronomical books on sale during the evening.
